We often hear that trust is the foundation of a successful marriage, and studies confirm it. In fact, according to a survey conducted by the American Psychological Association, 81% of married couples say that trust is one of the most important factors in a successful marriage. However, despite this overwhelming statistic, many couples still struggle with trust issues in their own relationship.

So why is trust so important in a marriage? Well, trust is the glue that holds a relationship together. It allows partners to feel safe and secure with one another, to be vulnerable, and to rely on each other during difficult times. Trust enables couples to communicate openly and honestly, to make important decisions together, and to build a deep emotional connection.

But unfortunately, trust is not always easy to come by. According to a study published in the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, nearly 20% of couples report feeling distrustful of their partner. This lack of trust can be caused by a variety of factors, such as infidelity, dishonesty, or a lack of communication.

So what can couples do to build and maintain trust in their marriage?
